TUBAL FACTORS IN STERILITY

Abstract

In 1919 Rubin made a revolutionary discovery in the field of sterility when he devised a tubal test by means of gas. However, the fallopian tubes are not merely a passageway of . tozoa and fertilized egg. The tubal mucosa is important in process of fertilization. The author reviewed various tubal pregnancy tests including air or gas insufflation, hydrotubation, chromotubation, hysterosalpingography, atumoperitoneum and culdoscopy.
Medical treatment of tubal pathology, type of operation i.e. salpingolysis, fimbriolysis, salpinostomy, end-to-end anastomosis, cornual implantation and postoperative care as well as results ?with tubal surgery have been briefly discussed.
